And the Winner Is...

On May 13, 2011, Taylor Wilson, a.k.a. "The Radioactive Whiz Kid" won one of the top three awards out of 1,600 competitors at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles—the largest pre-college science competition in the world. Taylor's project, an instrument that can help fight terrorism by detecting radioactive materials coming into the country through ports, won more than $50,000 in prizes and scholarships. To hear how his journey toward the top of the science fair pyramid began, read an excerpt from my book here.
